Another GREAT Hofstra Ranking: This Time for Media Professionals

LinkedIn, the world’s leading professional networking site with “with more than 313 million members in over 200 countries and territories,” has just launched a series of rankings based on its huge databases:

“Rankings are based on the career paths of LinkedIn members. Which schools are best at launching graduates into desirable jobs? We analyzed millions of alumni profiles to find out how schools around the world stack up across a variety of careers.”

And Hofstra University is ranked number two overall for those with undergraduate degrees from U.S. schools who work as Media Professionals. This ranking includes Hofstra graduates from the Zarb School of Business, the Herbert School of Communication, and the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Proudly, one of the Hofstra alumni listed by LinkedIn is Zarb BBA Adine Avrams, who is Senior Manager, Video Strategic Partnerships at AOL. She graduated in 2006 with a specialization in Marketing. 🙂

This is LinkedIn’s methodology for compiling its “Best Schools” list of Media Professionals:

“Here’s how we found the top schools for Media Professionals: First, we identified the top companies where Media Professionals are choosing to work. Next, we found people on LinkedIn who work as Media Professionals and saw where they went to school. Finally, for each school, we found the percentage of these alumni who’ve landed Media jobs at these top companies, then compared the percentages to come up with the list.”
